Segue with the photo gives this a distinctly Eastern feel, like an abbreviated tanka ... perhaps 1st wave of opening of the East? I could find nothing on him, just a couple of books he wrote - one on Christmas with a Dickens association - and that his middle name was Kibble.

Hmn.
