Audubon

John James Audubon
.
A true conservationist is a man who knows that the world
is not given by his fathers, but borrowed from his children.

This picture is what I see whenever I walk out through my deer fence. It might even be my woods.
Too bad the trees pull their roots out, sometimes, in high winds.
But everything has its time.
When its time comes, it gives back its life, in winter heat, in nutrients for the forest, or both.
